GIve a helping “PAW” by donating to the Oliver Pet Assistance Fund and help keep families together by providing a resource for pet owners to get vet care for their dog or cat where without could lead to suffering, economic euthanasia or relinquishment.

The Oliver Pet Assistance Fund was created by Beesley Animal Foundation (BAF) to provide financial assistance grants to family- owned pets in Rutherford and Cannon Counties in need of urgent (non-emergency) veterinary care.  It was created for owners who are low-income, elderly and other underserved caregivers.  This fund is designed to help with treatment of urgent (non-emergency) medical conditions where treatment will prevent suffering, euthanasia or relinquishment.

Please review the following guidelines for qualification of this program:

1)      Assistance will ONLY cover urgent (non-emergency) medical conditions and that have a good positive prognosis after treatment.  Conditions related to dentistry, eyes, ears, skin and heartworm disease will take priority.   Long- term chronic conditions and treatments will not be covered under this program.

2)      Applicant must be seen by a full service veterinarian and provide an estimate of the cost of care, a clear diagnosis, and a specific treatment plan with a “good” prognosis OR referred by Beesley Animal Clinic (BAC).  The Oliver Pet Assistance Fund will only provide funding in the amount of the cost stated on the itemized list of treatment plan up to $2,000. Award amount will be based on a sliding scale chart - 2023 Sliding Scale Chart

3)      Applicant must apply for Care Credit, Scratch Pay or through VetBilling.com before an application can be submitted.  Some of the amount granted by Care Credit/Scratch Pay must be applied to total cost before funding will be considered.

4)      The Fund will not cover the cost of the initial exam, any diagnostics to determine the pet’s prognosis and does not reimburse the cost of veterinary care of procedures that have already been performed.  Exceptions can be made for initial exam and diagnosis under very certain circumstances.

5)      The Oliver Pet Assistance Fund requires that any pet needing treatment where financial assistance is requested must be spayed/neutered or arrangements have been made for  the pet to be spayed/neutered as soon as safely to be able to be done at owners expense.

6)      All payments will be made to the treating veterinarian clinic and never to the individual.

7)      Preventative and wellness veterinary care such as vaccinations, annual heartworm testing, medications, and spay/neuter surgeries (unless our veterinarians deem it too high risk or urgent to be done by BAC) will not be covered under this program.   BAC provides affordable spay/neuter and preventative wellness services.

8)      The Fund limits one (1) instance per twelve (12) months per household up to $2,000 from date of funding.

9)      The Fund requires at time of application, submission of documentation providing amount and source of income and ID verification (ie. IRS Tax Form, recent paycheck or SSI statement) FOR ALL WORKING adults in the household.  Additional proof of hardship may be submitted and considered if total household income exceeds 300% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.

10)   The Fund requires adequate and safe living conditions for an animal during and after the procedure or treatment including being responsible to ensure pet receives consistent preventative wellness vet care.

11)   Owner agrees to provide a photo of their pet and agrees to allow The Oliver Pet Assistance Fund and BAF to use any images submitted at its discretion.

12)   Owner agrees to have images and information from their case used as a fundraising tool including written and/or video testimonials.

13)   The Fund,  BAF and partner veterinary providers are not responsible for the loss of a pet due to any procedure or treatment performed.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION AND ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION IS NOT A GUARANTEE OF FUNDING.

Amanda Oliver served as the Executive Director of Beesley Animal Foundation. Her legacy will live on at Beesley Animal Foundation for the love and care she fostered for hundreds of pets through her service. Amanda’s compassion and love for animals that she exhibited in the work she did as Executive Director for the Foundation that spanned a few decades will live on forever.

One of the last projects she was working on before her sudden death was finding ways to help pet owners with limited resources get access to veterinary care for their pets when urgent situations or conditions arise.  She strongly believed in the human-animal bond and knew that people want to be responsible and take care of their pets but more and more have limited resources creating a barrier to vet care.  Amanda believed everyone was deserving of a pet and understood that sometimes for those underserved; their pet was their only companion who brought joy and love to their lives.

Therefore in honor of Amanda, Beesley Animal Foundation created the Oliver Pet Assistance Fund. The intention of this fund is to help bridge the gap of access to vet care for dogs and cats and keep families together.

Reminder: This fund does not help with the costs of basic spay/neuter surgeries. Please reach out to Beesley Animal Clinic for requests of financial assistance for those surgeries. BAC provides affordable spay/neuter surgeries and if funds are available and you qualify, there can be financial assistance available to our already affordable costs. Text Beesley Animal Clinic at 615-802-0476 for information on assistance with spay/neuter.
